Gadsby Q&A with Chloe Worthington, designer and product developer at Gadsby

Has design always been something you’re passionate about?

Yes! I've always been creative. The right side of my brain is definitely more dominant. Creativity and the way things look and feel is important in lots of areas of my life, not just in my job. From interior design, to designing clothing for my children, to decorating cakes and planning birthday parties. I love taking an idea or a theme and finding ways to showcase it.

What does your day-to-day look like here at Gadsby?

A great variety of exciting jobs and projects. From smaller fast branding designs, to Gadsby internal NPD and graphic design, to big conceptual design projects for big brands. No two days are the same and require a wide variety of skills.

From a design perspective, what do you think makes a brand’s packaging stand out?

The way it makes you feel.

Is it memorable? Do you want to keep it or think twice before discarding it?

Great packaging isn't purely about the way it visually looks. The texture, the weight and the way you open and interact with the packaging, all take the consumer on a journey and subconsciously say as much about the brand as any graphical elements.

Lastly, what are you most looking forward to this year?

Having some of my designs hit the shelves.

Seeing my idea turn into the real thing and people wanting to purchase it is the best bit about my job!
