Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2013 - Planning A Visit?

It's already August, which means that one of the biggest events in our calendar is just around the corner! Speciality and Fine Food Fair takes place each September, and once again this year we'll be on stand 669 showcasing all of our product ranges and offering advice and help to all the visitors who are beginning to plan for the festive season.

With the show approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to compile all the essential information for the event in one blog post, along with the answers to some questions that we get regularly asked about the show. Speciality Food is a great chance to touch, feel and taste different products, and with experts and specialists on-hand on every stand, it's a great opportunity to discover exciting new products and ideas as well.

I've Never Been Before. What's The Show All About?...

Great Taste Awards 2013

Speciality & Fine Food Fair is a melting pot of everything that's great about the 'Foodie' world. The definitive tradeshow on the calendar, it features over six hundred exhibitors offering a wide variety of artisan food and drink products. Of course, you'll also find exhibitors offering products to compliment the food on show and help with other aspects of retailing, whether it's for a Farm Shop, Deli or something else. That's why we're there with our wicker baskets, retail display products and gift packaging!

The show's standout features fall into two main areas. First, there is a wealth of business knowledge and advice on-hand. Visitors can seek advice in the Business Mentoring Centre, where experienced entrepreneurs are ready to help fledgling companies, and the Small Business Forum runs a series of seminars that cover a wide range of topics aimed at helping and advising small business owners.

The Fine Food Forum

Second, is the celebration and acknowledgement of great food and the people who help create it. In the centre of the hall, right next to our stand, is the 'Fine Food Forum'. This area is a great live attraction featuring some of the industry's top chefs who showcase and highlight current trends, flavours and ingredients. The other highlight is the annual Great Taste Awards. With the final being held one night during the show, and the top products on display throughout the hall, the show is the first chance to see and taste all the winners of these renowned seals of approval.

What New Products Have You Got On Show?

Large Natural Box

We've been working hard all year to design and develop some great new ranges to help maximise your sales this Festive Season. The highlight of our new developments is undoubtedly our new selection of Cardboard Gift Packaging, which we're very excited to be showcasing at Speciality Food.

The new range features cardboard trays, gift boxes with a magnetic closing mechanism, and wine boxes. Initially in the three colours of red, black and 'natural', all of the products are made from a recycled cardboard that is then coated in kraft paper, resulting in a very high quality and eco friendly product.

We believe that the new products offer a great, cost-effective alternative to our more traditional wicker hampers for your gift packaging needs, and we hope you love them as much as we do!

The full range will be on display on our stand, with stock arriving a few weeks after the show, in plenty of time for the Christmas rush.

We've already written a full blog post all about the new Cardboard range, which you can read here and if you're one of those media types who would like to read the official press release, you can download it here:

Slate Cake Stand

The other new arrival for this season is our line of natural slate items, which are fantastic for both in-store display and gift packaging. With a wide range of shapes and sizes available, the slate is ideal for displaying items such as cheese, but also a unique, stylish means of creating a gift. A cheese 'hamper' on a slate board is sure to fly off the shelves this Christmas.

All of our slate products are already in stock and available to view and order online now! Of course, we'll also have them on our stand at the show so you can see them for yourself.

As with the Cardboard Gift Packaging, we've got a blog post dedicated to the new Slate range, which you can find here.

I Need To Order My Christmas Stock - Can I Do It At The Show?

Empty Wicker Hampers

Of course! As well as having examples of all our products on our stand, our staff will be able to help advise and assist with any orders that you need to place. We'll even give you an extra 5% discount! The show is a great chance to get useful advice from our team, who have a wealth of experience with the products and know which products work well together, how to create an effective 'range' and what products sell well in specific packaging. Be sure to pick their brains!

We always pride ourselves on the logistical side of our business, so by the time that the show arrives it's likely that all of your Christmas stock will be either in transit to us, or safely tucked away in our warehousing until you need it. This means you never need to worry about lack of stock later in the year.

So, if you're prepared already and able to place your initial Christmas orders at the show then that's great, but no need to worry if you're not quite at that stage yet!

Hopefully that gets you suitably excited for the show! We can't wait until it starts, but in the meantime, why not take a look below at the official video of last year's event. If you've got any questions or need any more information always feel free to give a member of our team here a call on 01278 437123.

Feel free to let us know if you're visiting the show in the comments below or on Twitter, Facebook or Google+, and we hope to see you there! Don't forget to register for the show on their website, which you can get to by clicking the big green button:
